AI text to 3D model generator
Describe an object in plain words and Generato turns it into a photoreal 3D Gaussian splat you can download as a PLY file, view over your phone camera, or place in your room on a Meta Quest headset. No Blender, no modelling skills, nothing to install.

How text to 3D works
- Write a prompt. Name the object and add a few details — material, colour, style. For example "vintage brass desk lamp" or "potted bonsai tree".
- Generato creates a reference image. The FLUX image model renders your prompt as a clean, single-object picture.
- The image is rebuilt in 3D. Tripo's TripoSplat model lifts that picture into a 3D Gaussian splat — millions of tiny coloured points that look photoreal from every angle.
- Use it anywhere. The model is saved to your library. Download it as a PLY file, view it over your phone camera, or step into mixed reality on Meta Quest.
Prompt tips for better 3D models
- One object per prompt. "A red ceramic teapot" works far better than "a kitchen with a teapot on the table".
- Say what it is made of. Words like wooden, glossy plastic, brushed metal, knitted give the colours and surface detail something to work with.
- Add a style if you want one. Cartoon, realistic, clay, plush all change the result.
- Skip backgrounds and scenery. The model only keeps the main subject.
What people make with it
XR and web scenes
Drop splats into WebXR, Three.js and PlayCanvas scenes, or into Unity and Unreal with a Gaussian splatting plugin.
Product mock-ups
Visualise a product idea in 3D and show it in a real room before anything is manufactured.
Teaching and storytelling
Turn a lesson or a story into objects students can walk around in AR or VR.
Concept art and moodboards
Explore an idea in 3D from a single sentence and look at it from any angle.
Frequently asked questions
Is the text to 3D generator free?
Yes. New accounts get free credits, and each credit generates one 3D model. When you need more you can buy a one-time credit pack — there is no subscription and credits never expire.
What file format do I get?
Models are 3D Gaussian splats, downloaded as PLY files. They open in splat viewers and editors such as SuperSplat, in PlayCanvas and Three.js, and in Unity or Unreal with a Gaussian splatting plugin. They are not polygon meshes, so they are not suited to 3D printing.
What is a Gaussian splat?
A Gaussian splat represents an object as a cloud of millions of soft, coloured points instead of polygons. It captures realistic colour and fine detail, and renders smoothly in the browser and in VR.
How long does it take to generate a 3D model from text?
Usually around a minute: a few seconds to create the reference image and the rest to reconstruct it in 3D.
Do I need a VR headset?
No. Generato runs in any modern browser on desktop or mobile. A Meta Quest headset is optional and lets you place the models in your real room in mixed reality.
Can I use the models commercially?
Commercial use depends on your plan. See the Terms & Conditions and the pricing options inside the app for details.
